Not sure yet how good this will be. Instruction book and recipe book need more detailed information. I cleaned and ran for 30 mins as per Instructions. Using for the first time for jerky. Recipes do not say what setting you should use. Raw or Fast. When you try to set a specific time for Fast the dehydrator will only run 10 hours. 24 for hours for raw. No alarm. So you must set on Fast 10 or Raw 24 hours then keep checking the food. I would have like something with more options but many dehydrator do not have metal shelves. This one does. It is fairly quiet. You do hear the fan. The recipes look good. Size is nice for countertop and storage, not heavy. 7 metal shelves plus trays for special ingredients. I have used the dehydrator once for chicken dog treats. It took about 4 hours on Fast setting. It worked well. I think the biggest problem with this product is lack of detail in instructions on how yhe settings are to be used and no setting information in tbe recipes. Otherwise, I think we will use the dehydrator often..
